Measuring Life

In the song Seasons of Love there is a line that says “measure your life in love”.

Damn, I’ve had a pretty darn good life!!

Today’s Thanks – 3/22/15

It’s kind of early in the day, but I’ve got one to share:

I’m thankful for the Women’s NCAA basketball tourney and a close game. Usually, the first round of the tourney is a little boring because the games are mostly blow-outs. Now we are getting to the point in the tourney where the teams are very evenly matched. Now if a team can just beat UCONN, I’ll be beyond thankful … I’ll be ecstatic!! Hope springs eternal! 🙂

Today’s Thanks

My thanks for today, Thursday 3/19/15 are:

  • Another extremely pleasant day! Started off rainy and chilly (for Arizona at least!) and then went to partly cloudy and comfortable. It has been a great week weather-wise!
  • Thanks to my good friend Leslie who wanted to go to lunch at one of my favorite places, China Chili, where I was able to indulge in their wonderful Szechuan Green Beans. Yum!!
  • Thankfully I did not have to wait in either extremely long line at Social Security and was able to drop my form off in a postal-like box in the lobby.
  • Thanks to Jill Wiseman Design for beading videos.
  • And there was one more, but it slipped my mind. Hopefully, I’ll remember it for later ’cause it was a good one 🙂

Today’s List of Thanks and Gratefulness

Most of the time, I see others limit their lists of thanks to 3 things. Well, I have a couple more than that today, and since I have been going against the grain lately, I figure I can make my daily list as long as I darn well want it to be. So, here is my list for Wednesday, 3/18/15:

  • I’m glad I only had to wait about 5 minutes for one of the giant washers at the laundromat to become available. Someone … I’m thinking probably Handsome … peed on the comforter that does not fit in my washer. But getting everything clean, and stopping to buy a vinyl zip-up mattress cover for future “accidents” only took me about three hours.
  • I’m thankful for my 2003 Toyota Matrix. It runs like a champ, still looks pretty darn good and holds everything I need to carry at any one time. Oh, I sometimes glance at those shiny new models with all the fancy bells and whistles, but for now my little Toyota is perfect!
  • I’m thankful that the skies today are cloudy and there is a nice breeze and that it is not 90 degrees. My kind of weather!
  • I’m thankful for my brother Jerry who always takes the time to do nice things for my sisters even without them knowing it.
  • I’m thankful that the right front tire was only one pound low instead of almost flat as it looked to me. And that Discount Tires does free tire air checks at any time.
  • I’m thankful that I finished the CreateSpace formatting for Golden Shana I for Akinyi and returned it to her. Now on to the Kindle formatting.
  • I’m thankful that my monthly pension is proving to be enough to get me through each month.

And there is one thing that I wish for – I wish Widget and Molly would learn how to clean the house and wash dishes!! 🙂

It’s Been A While

I haven’t written anything in what seems like ages. I could say I’ve been busy, which is somewhat true. But the actual truth is that I just haven’t had much to say.

So much for my promise to myself to write something every day. And for my hope that I would do better sticking with this blog than I do with paper and pen. Maybe I am just not meant to keep track of my thoughts and ideas.

Okay … okay … I can’t give up that easy. How about a daily list of things I am grateful for? I’ll bet you have seen others offer their thanks in Facebook posts. I am going to do it here in my blog.

DAY 1 – 03/17/15 – Today I am grateful for …

  • the gorgeous weather
  • the new leaves on the Ash tree I had planted last October
  • my girls, Widget and Molly
  • Potomac Bead Company beading videos
