The Theory of Everything

My friend Jeannie and I went to see The Theory of Everything this morning. (If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend it. Eddie Redmayne is unbelievable.) On the way out of the theater, we were discussing why Professor Hawking and his wife Jane divorced. We both came to the conclusion that it was because he loved her so much he wanted her to have a “normal” life, which he could not provide because of his health. (Jeannie and I are both romantics.)

When I got home I did a little research. If the infallible Wikipedia is to be believed, the reason for the divorce was not as Jeannie and I hoped.

Well, humph! I’m sticking with the romantic reason.

I have yet to see that movie. But, I guess most of us are just romantics at heart! If I remember correctly, I googled it too and I think it was because Professor Hawking “fell in love” with his caregiver, was it? 🙂
